Jimmy Roberts ’79
Jimmy Roberts is an award-winning broadcaster and writer. At ABC, ESPN — and since 2000, at NBC — he has covered World Series, Super Bowls, Stanley Cup Finals, NBA Championships, and 16 Olympic Games. At NBC, he has been a fixture on the network’s golf coverage and has served as studio host for coverage of Notre Dame Football and Wimbledon. Roberts is the author of the critically acclaimed book, “Breaking the Slump,” published by Harper Collins in 2009 as well as a featured columnist for The Met Golfer Magazine, for which he was cited with a Golf Writers Association of America award.
In a career which has spanned more than three decades, Roberts has also earned 13 Emmy Awards, including those for writing, best feature, journalism, and individual achievement. He is the most recent recipient of the Metropolitan Golf Association’s Distinguished Service Award and lives in the New York area with his wife, Sandy, and their three sons.
