Kevin Anderson

University of Maryland Director of Athletics

Kevin Anderson is the Athletic Director at the University of Maryland. A 1979 graduate of San Francisco State, Anderson was executive director of the YMCA of the East Bay from 1995 to 1997. He was then hired by the University of California, Berkeley, where he spent six years as an assistant athletic director. From there, Anderson was hired by Oregon State, where he spent two years as the executive associate athletics director. In 2004, he was hired as the Athletic Director at the United States Military Academy, and turned an operating deficit of over a million dollars into a $2.73 million surplus in just five years. While at Army, Anderson hired Rich Ellerson, who in 2010 led the Black Knights to their first bowl win since 1985. In 2010, Anderson was hired as the Athletic Director at the University of Maryland, where he has made two major hires – Randy Edsall and Mark Turgeon.
