Maury Povich is the son of Shirley Povich and as a young child was able to be a batboy for the Washington Senators. He is now the host of the talk show Maury. After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania, Povich got a job as a reporter at WWDC, before moving on to WTTG-TV, where he was a news reporter and sportscaster. Povich then began hosting talk shows and got jobs as a news anchor in nearly every major city in the country, before starting The Maury Povich Show in 1991. Povich also launched a weekly newspaper in Flathead Valley, Montana entitled the Flathead Beacon where he has a home.
