William Rhoden

The New York Times Sports Columnist

William Rhoden is a sports columnist for The New York Times, a position he has held since 1983. Before that, he worked for The Baltimore Sun and Ebony. Rhoden graduated from Morgan State University, and served as assistant sports information director while still a student at the university. Rhoden has written two books entitled “Forty Million Dollar Slaves: The Rise, Fall, and Redemption of the Black Athlete” and Third and A Mile: The Trials and Triumphs of The Black Quarterback.”
