- Capitals winger Devante Smith-Pelly is one of 24 black players in the NHL this season. “Devante isn’t there because he’s black,” Hall of Famer Willie O’Ree, who broke the league’s color barrier in 1958, told ESPN the Magazine. “He’s there because he’s a good hockey player.”
- Cristiano Ronaldo, who stands accused of rape, has been left out of Portugal’s squad for upcoming friendlies, according to CNN. Ronaldo denies the allegations.
