Chartese Burnett is the founder and CEO of Chartese Enterprises LLC, a consulting firm which assists nonprofit organizations, community organizations, individual and family foundations to fund and further their missions.
Burnett is a communications, marketing and nonprofit executive with extensive experience in marketing, public relations, community relations and fundraising. Burnett is a recognized sports executive with over 23 years of leading, developing, and managing marketing communications and external affairs for several major collegiate and professional sports brands; including her alma mater Georgetown University, the NBA, the NFL Players Association and the Washington Nationals Baseball Club. She has dedicated more than 11 years of service to nonprofits; planning and executing successful events, motivating and leading initiatives, and raising money.
Burnett was one of three sports executives in the Washington Metropolitan Area to be nominated as Sports Executive of the Year in September 2009 by the Greater Washington Sports Alliance. Burnett is an accomplished speaker and presenter, having acted as public and media spokesperson for every organization for which she has served; in addition to being an annual presenter at the Sports Events Marketing Experience (SEME) Conference, and the Sports Industry Networking Career (SINC) Conference.
Burnett is passionate about higher education and making an impression in the lives of young adults; and fully embraces her role as a mentor and teacher. As an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland, she teaches Sports Media Today. She is also an adjunct professor and capstone advisor at Georgetown University in the Sports Industry Management Program for Master’s Candidates.
A native Washingtonian, Chartese received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Foreign Languages (French, Spanish) at Georgetown University in Washington, DC.
Burnett resides in Bowie, MD and considers her greatest gifts her two children – Lisette and Giovanna.
